1047 Games has announced the end of active development for Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. Starting September 3, 2026, both games are scheduled to shut down dedicated servers and official matchmaking and transition to a peer-to-peer model in which players host matches or find games through a server browser.
What Changes on September 3
The key change is not the immediate closure of the games, but a change in how their online services operate. 1047 Games explained that the two games do not generate enough revenue to cover the cost of running dedicated servers, making it difficult to continue operating them in the existing format.
Ending active development does not mean the same thing as shutting down the games.
After the transition to P2P, players are expected to be able to create matches and find other games to play with friends. However, the official announcement did not confirm details such as the exact transition time, time zone, or connection quality after the change.
Empulse Will Receive a Final Update
Before the P2P transition, Empulse will receive one additional map, and its price is scheduled to be reduced in all regions. 1047 Games said this update will be Empulse’s final version.
The name of the new map and the reduced price have not yet been announced. For now, the confirmed details are that one new map and a price reduction in all regions are planned.
