Korail ticket reservations for trains operating during the 2026 Chuseok holiday begin on September 3. The reservation period covers trains running from September 23 through 27, and according to the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute’s special-days information, Chuseok Day falls on September 25.

Key Changes

Passengers requiring assistance can reserve tickets first. People with disabilities, older adults, pregnant people, and national merit recipients can participate in advance reservations on September 3 and 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations for general customers begin on September 7.

Another point to check is the reservation channel. Tickets for trains operating from September 2026 onward are purchased through the integrated railway service, such as Korail+ or the Korail website, rather than the SRT app.

Current Status

General customer reservations run from September 7 through 11, daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The eligible routes for each date are as follows.

DateEligible reservations
September 7All routes for conventional trains
September 8KTX services on the Gyeongjeon, Gangneung, Donghae, Jungang, and Jungbu Naeryuk lines
September 9KTX services on the Honam and Jeolla lines
September 10Major KTX routes departing from or arriving at Suseo Station
September 11Gyeongbu Line KTX

The holiday reservation website is available only to registered railway members, and each person may reserve up to 12 tickets.

Because reservation dates vary by passenger type and route, check the eligible date for your desired train first.

Impact

Winning a reservation is not the final step; payment deadlines must also be met. Tickets reserved by general customers must be paid for from midnight on September 12 through midnight on September 15. Tickets reserved during the advance reservation period for passengers requiring assistance must be paid for by September 18. Reservations that remain unpaid by the deadline are automatically canceled and assigned sequentially to people on the waiting list.

Remaining seats will be sold from 3 p.m. on September 11 through Korail+, the railway customer center, ticket vending machines, and other channels. Real-time seat availability and access conditions may vary at the time of use, so check directly when sales begin.

Next Checkpoint

Advance reservations for passengers requiring assistance are currently underway, while general customers can reserve tickets according to the route-specific schedule beginning September 7. Immediately before publication, check Korail’s official mobile notices and press releases again for any schedule changes.
