The cancellation follows an ongoing unpredictable situation caused by recent volcanic activity in Indonesia and strengthened local safety and security measures. The stated reason includes not only the volcanic activity but also the related escalation of local safety and security conditions.

Anak Krakatau Activity and Its Impact Around Jakarta

Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) announced that volcanic ash from the September 6, 2026, eruption of Anak Krakatau spread across Banten, Jakarta, West Java, and surrounding areas, and that some airports were temporarily closed. This announcement shows the volcanic activity and its impact on nearby areas before the concert cancellation notice.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources also stated on September 11, 2026, that volcanic activity at Anak Krakatau was continuing. The alert level remained at Level III, or Siaga, and authorities advised people to avoid entering or conducting activities within 3 kilometers of the active crater. The ash spread and temporary airport closures announced on September 6, together with the continuing activity and access restrictions reported on September 11, provide context for the local safety assessment cited by RBW.
