Max Verstappen will attempt to overtake 100 kart competitors at Silverstone in the United Kingdom on September 16, 2026. Disney+ and ESPN announced on August 25 that they will broadcast ‘Max vs 100,’ produced in partnership with Red Bull, live that day. The event will be held behind closed doors, with no spectators admitted.
The Challenge Begins at the Back of a 101-Kart Grid
The starting grid will have 101 karts lined up simultaneously. Verstappen will start from the back of the grid and attempt to overtake the 100 competitors ahead of him. The official announcement describes an “attempt to overtake 100 people”; because the event has not yet taken place, it has not been confirmed whether he will overtake all 100 competitors or what the final result will be.
The event track was designed by David Terrien, the race director and French kart-track designer. The participants include not only Red Bull drivers but also gaming personalities, streamers, social-media creators, media figures, invited fans, and undisclosed guests. The official announcement names Arda Saatçı, Chris “Lethal Shooter” Matthews, Matt Jones, TheGrefg, Caedrel, and TheDonato as notable participants.
Disney+ and ESPN Live Broadcasts, with Different Regional Conditions
Disney+’s official announcement says the event is included with an existing subscription, but it also states that availability may vary by market. Therefore, based only on the information officially confirmed so far, it cannot be stated definitively whether a live broadcast will be available on Disney+ in South Korea or which plan or service route would apply.
In the United States, ESPN Unlimited subscribers will be able to watch the live broadcast through the ESPN App, while a same-day delayed broadcast is scheduled on ESPN2. In the Netherlands, a live broadcast on Disney+ and the ESPN Watch app, along with a same-day rebroadcast on ESPN2, has been announced, although the live broadcast time is listed as TBD. The live broadcast time and availability in South Korea also require separate guidance.
Whisper will handle the live production, using game-style graphics, drone footage, real-time race data, and on-screen information. The key confirmed schedule is the live broadcast on September 16; the race result and detailed regional viewing conditions should be checked for any further announcements before the event.
