This route is a passenger charter service, not a service where travelers can buy individual tickets through platforms. The actual arrival record for the first flight and the schedule announced at the time of reporting also show different times, so anyone considering the service should check both the sales channel and the latest operating schedule.

The First Flight Has Arrived, but Operations Are Temporary

According to China News Service (CNS), Lucky Air flight 8L881 departed Kunming Changshui International Airport at 12:39 p.m. local time in China on October 15, 2026, carrying 83 passengers, and arrived at Daegu International Airport at 5:20 p.m. local time in South Korea. Yonhap News Agency and Maeil Shinmun reported that the route would operate temporarily through October 15, 2027. The first arrival confirms that the service has launched, while the announced operating period is temporary rather than a regular service.

Charter Booking Channels and the Schedule at the Time of Reporting

According to CNS, individual tickets are not sold on the airline’s website or on ticketing platforms. Travelers interested in the service should contact sales partners for operating information and reservations. The schedule at the time of reporting followed a pattern of three flights every two weeks: Thursday in the first week, then Tuesday and Saturday the following week. The scheduled local times were 8L881 departing Kunming at 12:25 p.m. and arriving in Daegu at 6:10 p.m., and 8L882 departing Daegu at 7:10 p.m. and arriving in Kunming at 11:55 p.m. These were the scheduled times reported at the time, distinct from the actual times of the first flight. The report said operating days and times could be adjusted for the 2026 winter and spring seasons.

Tourism Promotion Is Underway; a Regular Route Is Daegu City’s Goal

Daegu City invited eight people, including media representatives from Yunnan Province and local travel influencers, on a six-day familiarization tour from October 10. Participants visited Daegu’s Palgongsan National Park, Modern Culture Alley, Apsan Observatory, Seomun Market, and E-World, as well as Gyeongju and Busan. Coverage was scheduled to appear 15 times on the online platforms of Yunnan Daily and Yunnan City Times starting October 20, with social media promotion by participating influencers also planned. Daegu City said it planned administrative and financial support to help the temporary route lead to a regular route, but that does not mean the airline has confirmed regular flights. For current travel planning, the sales partners for the charter service and its changeable schedule are the practical points to check; conversion to a regular route remains a future goal of Daegu City.
