Why searches for Kim Kyung-moon rose
Kim Kyung-moon is listed as the manager of the Hanwha Eagles on the KBO team information page. After Hanwha lost 13–6 to SSG at Incheon SSG Landers Field on August 27 and surrendered all three games of the midweek series, the game result and pressure from the standings appear to have drawn attention alongside searches for Kim Kyung-moon.
However, the sources reviewed contain no official announcement regarding the manager’s position or internal accountability within the club. Accordingly, the interest is best understood as a result-focused issue that emerged immediately after the game.
How SSG turned the game around to win 13–6
According to Yonhap News Agency’s game report, the inning-by-inning scoring was Hanwha 400 100 001 and SSG 023 023 03X. SSG recorded 17 hits, including two home runs, and achieved its first game of the season in which every starting batter recorded a hit.
Despite allowing early runs, SSG completed a 13–6 victory behind 17 hits and two home runs.
SSG’s home runs were a two-run shot by Ahn Sang-hyun and a three-run shot by Jeon Eui-san. Jeon started as the No. 5 batter and first baseman, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two walks, four runs scored, and three RBIs.
Jeon Eui-san’s role amid the absence of Choi Jeong
Jeon Eui-san said that although Choi Jeong’s absence is significant, it is something young players will eventually have to take on. Based on the day’s numbers alone, Jeon was at the center of SSG’s offense with a three-run home run and four runs scored.
Hanwha’s standing and recent form
According to News1, SSG remained in ninth place at 48 wins, five ties, and 64 losses, while Hanwha moved into eighth place at 49 wins, three ties, and 60 losses. The gap between the two teams narrowed to 2.5 games.
After ending a six-game losing streak, Hanwha fell into another four-game skid and went 1–10 over its last 11 games. This defeat again highlighted the team’s recent form, together with its allowing SSG to sweep the three-game series.
Hanwha series sweep after 1,236 days
Newspim reported that SSG’s sweep of its three-game series against Hanwha was its first since the April 7–9, 2023 series in Daejeon, 1,236 days earlier. This series drew attention not merely because of a single-game victory, but because it suggested a shift in SSG’s recent results against Hanwha.
